TRACKS 3.- CHANAJIGA - MONTES DE LA GUANCHA
TRACK 2.- MONTE DEL AGUA - VOLCÁN CHINYERO

Apps I use to register my tracks.

I have used several apps to save my tracks and routes. As I posted a few weeks ago, I used My Tracks app which is quite easy to use, but now I am using Wikiloc which is a more universal way of sharing routes with other people worldwide. The download of the app is free but if you want to use it for navigating you will need to pay a year suscription (about 6€), it is a very reliable app and it really helps to find the best places to ride on the island.
Besides I recently bought a GPS receiver (Garmin Dakota 20) which be the best complement for more detailed navigation in the forests. With all these I fell I have all necessary apps and devices to ride safely, although it is very unlikely that you can get lost here, the island is quite easy to ride and orientation is simple in most cases, so you won't need any app or device to enjoy the place.

...

After a time using different apps to register and record my rides, I am presently using STRAVA, combined with my POLAR sports watch M400. More than enough to have all necessary data in case you want to have all the important info about your tracks and your physical condition.

Tenerife, the island.

As you can see in the map of the island, it's roughly like a big triangle with a central, huge mountain which is mount Teide - the highest peak in Spain - (3,718 mts); this means that the possibilities for riding are exceptional as you can choose form a simple seaside ride to a very tough and challenging downhill at a very high altitude, normally above 1,500 mts.

After a while being away from this blog, here I am again to tell you about the good things about Mountain Bike in the Canarian Island of Tenerife.
There are many routes you can choose depending on your physical level or your skills with the bike or even the type of riding you do.
